Job Description
Eaton’s Arecibo PR is currently seeking for a EHS Supervisor to join our team. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide support to Arecibo site EHS, manufacturing and support operations in the Feeders and Assembly areas designated by the EHS Manager. This includes MESH and ISO 14001 systems day-to-day support activities, WRA, OPEX, environmental, safety and health to common and unusual situation, capability analysis, cost studies, safety assessment, engineering controls implementations and continuous improvements of MESH and manufacturing process. Define, coordinates, lead and execute projects and implementations of MESH strategies to improve EHS impact in operations, CAPA’s, MESH Assessment and Compliance calendars. Define and lead process improvement projects to improve plant’s indicators (DPPM, Warranty Claims, On-Time Performance, and Scrap and CONC). Ability to contact and communicate with External and Internal Customer providing Customer Satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This role is responsible for support the EHS Manager in the sites Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts. Accountable for support and leads EHS activities including achievement of EHS objectives and targets. Ensure internal reporting of EHS performance, communication of federal, national, and local regulatory requirements. Ensuring MESH documents are organized and readily available. Lead and supports site ISO/OSHA certifications, assures accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics, closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis. This position will provide supervision to EHS technicians through the support, guideline, work team and development. Assist in the completion of required training for site personnel, supporting actions during crises, driving incident/injury management including root causes and corrective actions. Site security and supporting the creation of a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes. EHS Supervisor supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site. Lead er of people EHS technicians and bring support. Supports site in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Supports development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives. Facilitate risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Responsible for tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance. Supports creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results. Works with MESH Category/Element champions to facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements. Supports EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year. Supports pursuit of third-party recognition for programs (ISO 14001, OSHA 1800I, Zero Waste to Landfill, etc\.) that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class. Uses established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism, and Power BI to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information. Develops training programs and ensures that all training is defined and tracked to completion. Supports efforts to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. Works with site leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations. Supports efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class. Provides support on using established EHS data systems such as MESH PRISM or other Eaton platforms to manage data. Lead, create and maintain with EHS technician supports the training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion. Supports efforts to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. Track EHS CAPA’s and ensure upload and closure on time. Support LOTO’s Program. Lead MOC’s Program. Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams (Safety-Ergo, ERT, Green-Energy). Attend and support the actions discussed in the Tier 2 and back up Tier 3. Train Eaton employees in EHS topics. Promote and promulgate all Quality Process and Policies to all the employees under his/her supervisor and ensure that they are being performed at his/her area. Lead and participate accidents or incidents investigation of the EHS Alerts. EHS Supervisor provides technical support, including data interpretation and development of corrective actions to the EHS function in areas such as MESH and provide support to the WWT team operations. Maintains a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and seeks to improve the environment in our site, while always promoting the highest levels of integrity. Provide technical support to EHS Technicians, regarding EHS matters and upload metrics in MESH Suite such injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS actions items and other pertinent information. Support security processes to the security contractors, implements policies and procedures to prevent, monitor, reduce and mitigate the physical hazards by managing loss control programs and implementation of security procedures to preserve the integrity of human resources and assets of the company. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences. Preferable: Master’s in Science and/or Environmental Engineering. Minimum 5+ years of experience in EHS position or related field and supervisory experience. Preferable, experience in a diverse manufacturing environment. Fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Skilled in PC software: Microsoft Office, Access, Oracle. Knowledge: Lead Auditor of ISO14001; Preferable: MESH auditor/assessor, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), EPA Regulations, Certified Industrial Hygienist. Ability to integrate EHS with other functions. Ability to supervise, develop, and direct subordinates. Ability to act as an agent of change. Effective in enabling and driving change. Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs and special projects. Ability full domain in the application of OSHA regulations, EPA, and local regulations. Ability to lead and support cross functional EHS teams. Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office. Ability to act as an agent of change; effective in enabling and driving change.
