We are looking for an experienced Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager to drive outstanding performance in a diverse manufacturing environment! The primary objectives of this position are to help ensure that the facility, equipment, and procedures are in place to enable a safe start-up of operations. After start-up, this role will be responsible for managing EHS industrial safety programs to ensure safe operations and to help drive an actively caring safety culture.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • You will be responsible for leading key EHSS industrial safety programs, collaborating with business partners to advance their safety culture and performance.

  • You will support and influence business partners with input from other EHSS authorities at the site and from within the Amgen EHSS community.

  • Lead and manage assigned industrial safety programs in a GMP environment and act as the site subject matter expert

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all assigned programs and liaise with regulatory authorities as appropriate

  • Implement robust compliance readiness and internal auditing program for each program

  • Provide regular updates to Global Program owners and EHSS Site Lead on the status of each program

  • Implement safety culture program to integrate EHSS as part of day-to-day business operations.

  • Analyze metrics and establish annual action plans to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Establish and implement risk assessment plans to address risks and ensure that control systems are implemented and maintained.

  • Ensure all changes with potential EHSS impact are assessed and controls are established prior to implementation

  • Ensure all hazards are identified and risks are assessed

  • Establish safe work procedures for hazardous work, including conducting work area inspections

  • Monitor incident trends and conduct incident investigations to implement robust corrective actions to prevent future incidents and injuries

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 3years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree or and 5years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience

OR

Associate degree and 10 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience

And

Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing industrial safety programs during new pharmaceutical facility start-up

  • Experience performing ergonomic risk assessments

  • Experience managing emergency action plans and emergency response activities
