About The Strategic Solutions Group (SSG)

The Strategic Solutions Group, part of RWS’s Language Services division, works closely with major accounts and clients of all sizes who are going global with specialized localization services. These services cover the entire localization spectrum, from translating content, media, and audio to creating engaging eLearning programs and transcreating highly impactful marketing campaigns. The SSG works closely with RWS’s Language eXperience Delivery (LXD) platform, which includes 2,000 in-house linguists, and a network of more than 29,000 translators, who use RWS’s proprietary machine translation, AI, and translation productivity tools, to deliver a 24/7 service to clients.

 

Job Purpose

The EMEA Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of sales professionals across EMEA who are working with non-regulated industry clients who are looking to solve their language service and technology challenges by working with RWS – a company who has been doing this for the World’s leading brands for more than six decades.

The EMEA Sales Manager will be responsible for key sales processes and achieving sales revenue objectives and generating sales forecasts.  They will work in conjunction with marketing, product management and inside sales as well as engaging with executive leadership across business units.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages team of sales professionals for EMEA region
  • Manage key sales processes including account strategy, one on one reviews, key deal reviews, pricing proposals, sales presentations, and in-person sales meetings.
  • Responsible to achieve sales revenue objectives for language services and language technologies
  • Responsible for generating sales forecasts and ensuring compliance of sales data in Saleforce.com and other data tools.
  • Develops and leads the implementation of a variety of sales enablement initiatives within target accounts and monitors effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with counterparts in marketing, product management, and inside sales to develop and implement sales plans, strategies, and tactics for Language Services offerings for non-regulated industries.
  • Assist and participate in planning on webinars and in-person trade shows.
  • Frequently engages with executive leadership to formulate strategies and garner support. Leads efforts to conduct comprehensive and complex analysis across a variety of areas that result in a deep understanding of the market, industry and/or customer.
  • Recognized as a functional expert and thought leader; leads initiatives and provides expertise in building the overall effectiveness and capability of the marketing function (e.g., cross-functional knowledge sharing, best practices, learning and development program creation, defining performance standards). On behalf of marketing leadership, leads cross functional teams in the area of sales excellence. Leads knowledge sharing and skill building across the function in new markets, product areas, and/or industries.
  • Build trust and confidence across business units by collaborating with others, consistently working to deliver outstanding results, and continuously developing expertise within the function. Instils confidence with internal and external stakeholders by providing thought leadership, strategies and plans in strategic and/or complex areas.
  • Assist in the generation and promotion of new theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies within a specialty area. Given direction in the form of broadly defined outcomes, defines the objectives of the assignment.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable 3 year+ experience (at management level), managing a sales organization, ideally in the localization industries.
  • Examines data to grasp issues and draw conclusions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of business concepts, strategy, structures and processes.
  • An adaptable, curious individual who experiments and can navigate the discomfort of change.
