Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the overall strategy of Life Science Solutions Group (LSG) is accurately reflected in the marketing deployed in EMEA, and that those activities deployed deliver on the targeted Marketing ROI. As such, you will lead and manage the EMEA Marketing Operations team encompassing the Marketing Campaign Management, Marketing Communications, Events & Conferences, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Marketing Analytics and Digital Marketing teams. The Marketing Operations function should always be scalable to increase our marketing efficiency and organizational agility ensuring that we meet and exceed our ROI targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Regional Market Development (RMD) leaders to ensure the business strategy is accurately translated into marketing strategy that drives growth.
  • As an EMEA Marketing Leadership Team member contribution to the overall strategic direction and Marketing strategy for LSG Divisions across EMEA is encouraged.
  • Manage, coach and develop the EMEA Marketing Operations teams to create and deploy marketing activities to drive the financial goals of LSG.
  • Oversight for the project management and execution of all EMEA marketing campaigns.
  • Determine and drive the strategy that leads to marketing evolution through Digital Marketing and Marketing Automation enhancing the customer experience and engaging customers through Omni channel marketing activities
  • Organize and optimize the team to reflect and deliver on the agreed strategic direction of the Divisions and Business Units
  • Develop and realize EMEA digital marketing strategy for agreed targets of incremental revenue through targeted digital marketing campaigns, accelerating demand in the EMEA region.
  • Manage the creation and deliver EMEA MarCom plans (advertising, asset management, vendor management, creative, brand, etc.) constantly raising the bar and stretching the team to think and act differently to ensure our marketing leading position and competitive edge.
  • Brand custodian for Thermo Fisher Scientific premier brands in EMEA
  • Devise and implement EMEA events strategy ensuring Thermo Fisher Scientific and our premier brands are top of mind with customers.
  • Deliver the annual EMEA commercial meeting ensuring that the needs of the commercial leaders are fully met, and that the audience is engaged and inspired by the format, activities and organization of the event.
  • Develop and execute EMEA CRM strategy and data health initiatives to maximize the utilization of data to continuously improve on marketing ROI and to ensure we segment and target accurately.
  • Control and manage Marketing Operations budget

Nature and Scope:

This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external stakeholders requiring the ability to build, utilize, influence and negotiate with a multitude of different leaders and teams.

This role is for an experienced manager, who works independently with solid and proven experience in Marketing Operations. Effectiveness in this role requires strategic thinking, marketing flair and expert knowledge of diverse marketing operations disciplines (campaign management, marketing communications, events, CRM & Marketing Analytics and digital marketing).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration or the equivalent education and experience are required.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated Marketing Leadership
  • Demonstrated Leadership/Influencing experience
  • Proven ability to establish networks at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into marketing strategy and ensure seamless execution of the plan.
  • Extensive experience in a commercial and/or marketing role
  • Leadership, employee development, and performance management
  • Strong communication skills as well as analytical, presentation and project management skills necessary.
