As a Technical Support After Sales (Software / Connectivity for Uninterruptable Power Supply), you manage escalations coming from internal stakeholders, attend project review for new product development and train Eaton after salespeople You will work within our world class Technical Support Team in our Montbonnot site with a dynamic team of 5 people and work with the sales organisation all across Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA). Job Responsibilities In the technical support you are in charge of 4 main activities: You manage incoming international technical requests (90% e-mails, 10% phone) about Software and Management Cards issues from the Eaton technical support: You are responsible for the analysis and the follow-up of the cases until they are fixed by a performing IT tool You provide an appropriate and rapid response to users by ensuring customer satisfaction When necessary, you lead technical meetings with the Eaton local correspondents, Research & Development and to possibly end customers Time to time, due to complex technical issues, you go to customer site for technical expertise You collaborate fully with the team in place to ensure up-to-date documentation You attend project review for new product development: You bring the technical expertise with the field experience You are the interface with Product management to sum up enhancements required or new needs You train the technical correspondents in Eaton: You are in charge of preparing the training and the evaluation survey You deploy the training for new product launch and for new releases Other responsibilities: You contribute to the continuous improvement of the department You maintain a high technology laboratory for testing and for customer demonstrations Qualifications Education level required: Bac+2. Years and area of experience required: 3 to 5 years of related skills. Technical Knowledge: IT Networking skills Understanding of following protocols SNMP (V1/V3), IP V4/V6, SSL, http, XML Management of Windows tool to capture serial information Operating Systems / Virtualization: Advance user of Microsoft Windows 2003/XP/Vista/2008/7/8, Ubuntu, Linux RHEL / Suse, VMware, Vcenter ESX/ESXi , Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen Citrix, RedHat Good written and spoken English. Soft skills: To be able: To sum up and clarify information coming from different sources. To characterize technically a problem (steps to reproduce / steps to solve) To lead meeting Desired: To be able To capture Network frames from a network analyzer tool (and analyses the problem) (e.g. Wireshark, …) To use debug tools and verbose modes of SW and connectivity tools To develop some simple scripts (bash shell, MS-DOS batch, JavaScript, etc…) to adapt the product behaviour to the customer specific needs.
