Job Summary:

Participates in all sales activities related to the Commercial unit; leads the development of Sales staff and ensures that sales activities for designated sales representatives are accomplished promptly and efficiently within the time and cost constraints consistent with CSA and the department's goals and objectives. Coordinates and supervises the development and training of sales representatives in specified region(s). Provides structure and leadership to all sales representatives in specified region(s). Recruits and selects sales personnel; training; budgeting; annual goal setting; monitoring set measurements against goals on a proscribed basis. Expected to meet personal sales goals.

  • Participates in the overall planning of the sales function staffing activities. Periodically reviews and recommends changes in staffing levels to achieve approved budget goals or to expand sales activities into new territories or to sell new services.
  • Participates in planning the sales strategy and goals each year, prior to submittal of the annual budget.
  • Participates in the development of the sales budget.
  • Provides competitive and customer related information to management in order to monitor competitive trends and customer satisfaction.
  • Plans and organizes regular sales meetings and conference calls.
  • Recruits, selects, trains and supervises new and current sales personnel.
  • Develops standard orientation and on-going sales training requirements and produces and maintains supporting documentation.
  • Participates in goal setting for sales staff, supervises individual implementation and measures progress towards meeting goals supervision.
  • Monitors sales activities of sales personnel on a monthly basis to ensure that overall strategies and budgets are met.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations of designated sales employees in a timely manner. Defines, follows and periodically evaluates the appropriate goals and objectives of each employee and recommends salary adjustments.
  • Prepares periodic sales reports for all designated sales staff.
  • Provides information and support to marketing group as required.
  • Schedules sales personnel as appropriate and provides support and oversight for trade show activity in specified region(s).
  • Participates in the development of and/or changes to marketing materials and public relations campaigns, as requested.
  • Selling CSA Products and Services to new and current customers to meet annual goals.

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or Marketing or related business field or minimum 10 years of related experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience in supervising and developing a group of more than five people
  • 3-5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing
  • Proven ability to motivate others and to facilitate a positive group morale
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills, and negotiating skills
  • Experience/exposure to IT project management/business oversight is an asset
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Initiative and ability to develop new customers contacts
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Responsive and pleasant when dealing with external and internal customers, peers, and co-workers
  • Flexible in schedule and time management
  • Works cooperatively with others, as the lead or the support person in calls, trade shows and presentations
  • Maintains positive contacts within the organization to exchange , explain and interpret information or ideas and follows-up on client requests
  • Customer complaint resolution skills; working with manager and other appropriate CSA supervisor, technical staff of managers, identifies problems, investigate concerns and suggests solutions
  • Skills required for managing all phases of sales cycle from initiation to close
  • Abilities for balancing client, customer and/or partner needs with the interests of CSA
  • Ability to manage personality issues to create a harmonious environment is required
  • Strong organization, creativity and project manager skills to plan for projects, events and conferences
  • Evaluates industry reports, territory databases, external competitive information and develops territory analysis for presentation and reporting to manager
  • Problem resolution skills, to deliver high quality and timely services
  • Territory management skills (planning) for proactively identifying potential customers, preparing plan for prospecting and follow-up, and reporting results in various presentation formats
