ABOUT SHIYAN CITY, HUBEI PROVINCE

Dongfeng public High School is situated in the downtown of Shiyan City (population 2,000.000), Hubei Province. Located at the foot of the picturesque Wudang Mountains and the bank of Han River, the city of Shiyan is well known for its motor industry, mild climate and beautiful geography-the city looks as if it were carved in stone! Wudang Mountains, for example, are a unique site for the outdoors enthusiasts. Besides many recreational opportunities, there are plenty of travel opportunities, allowing folks to explore rich Chinese culture and way of life. Modern, safe and fully developed, China is one of the best destinations a travelling teacher can embark upon. And the fact that the position requires only 15-21 teaching class hours per week, leave a plenty of time for exploration. Coupled with the fact that the tax-free monthly salary is between 3000-4000 Canadian dollars(based on experience), which is a tremendous amount of money in China, many new graduates take advantage of being able to pay off their students loans, save for the house down payment in Canada, and still live really well, enriching their lives by experiencing the rich Chinese culture and amazing local cuisine. Founded in 1978, over the years, the school has won many great awards and accolades, as well as the country wide recognition. In 1985, it was granted the status of the key school of Hubei Province by Hubei Educational Authority.
