Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive English language lessons that are aligned with the school's curriculum standards and objectives for grades 4-6 and 9-11.
2. Employ a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring student engagement and comprehension.3.Focus on developing students' proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening through targeted instruction, practice activities, and authentic language experiences.
4. Stimulate critical thinking and analytical skills through the exploration of literature, media, current events, and real-world issues within the context of English language learning.
5. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their growth and achievement.
6. Differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students, including English language learners and students with special learning requirements.
7. Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to earning, respect, and collaboration among students.
8. Collaborate with colleagues, including other English teachers, subject teachers, and learning support staff, to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and support students' holistic development.
9.Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding students' progress, achievements, and areas for improvement, fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
10.Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including workshops, conferences, and collaborative learning communities, to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay abreast of best practices in English language education.
Qualification:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2.Teaching certification/license from an accredited institution or relevant teaching experience in secondary education.
3. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, with a clear accent and strong communication skills.
4. Knowledge of English language teaching methodologies, curriculum frameworks, and assessment practices for grades 9-12.
5. Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources for enhancing English language instruction and student engagement.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
7. Organizational skills and attention to detail to plan and implement effective lessons assessments, and classroom management strategies.
8. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community in a dynamic educational environment.
9.Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity, equity, and respect for all students.
