• The Technical Manager - ETL Cloud primary responsibility will be to design, develop and maintain the various ETL solutions consisting of data exchange process models, ETL specifications and underlying ETL code base serving (online transaction- based, MDM, etc) applications, specialized data warehouse and data mart applications. He or she will possess strong ETL Cloud Platform technologies skills.
• The Technical Manager - ETL Cloud will also be expected to provide coaching to developers and testers in understanding code changes and unit test cases, and to ensure that the new changes integrate seamlessly in the current application. He or she will also plan and execute knowledge transfer activities to ensure smooth project transition to the support organizations, and will participate, in a consultative capacity, in problem management to ensure a stable environment.
• The Technical Manager - ETL Cloud will be responsible for high level and technical specifications (design), development, unit testing, deployment, support, coordination of tasks and resources related to applications service/product areas. The lead specialist will partner with representatives from the business to define, design, develop, enhance and deploy/support new and existing processes.

Design / Development

• Analyze business requirements to design, build, develop and implement highly efficient, highly scalable ETL processes and lead the ETL development efforts
• Work with the Solution and Enterprise Architects to resolve any issues encountered during the development, testing and deployment phases of development projects
• Provide input to the Data Architecture function on data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries, data element naming standards and metadata standards
• Deliver assigned work on schedule and provide regular status reports to the Project Manager(s) and team manager
• Perform data mappings and design of ETL workflow solutions
• Define data extract, transformation and load routines as necessary to support requirements, in the form of a design specification
• Prepare, maintain and publish ETL documentation, including design, source-to-target mappings and business-driven transformation rules
• Define, document and develop unit test cases

Support / Standardize

• Provide in-depth technical consultation and leadership to ensure the development of efficient ETLs by utilizing established methodologies and best practices
• Ensure that existing coding guidelines, standards and best practices are followed and applied to development projects
• Perform effective knowledge transfer to ensure that the required design approach and coding changes are understood by the support teams that will be maintaining the delivered applications
• Provide subject-matter expertise for the architectural design and direction of the analytic platform
• Take ownership for issues to reach resolutions to prevent recurrences
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines
• Proactively identify the impact of potential process changes, integrate new initiatives with existing processes, and ensure that all processes are consistent and fit together

Advisory

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managements, business users, expertise from other technical areas, and peers
• Evolve approach to meet new and changing business requirements
• Ability to provide development estimates based on user requirements and elaborate on impact analysis for existing systems

Communication Requirements

Internal

• Work with cross teams within EASC.
• Liaises with necessary AIA colleagues outside EASC to ensure delivery of the functional work as required.
• Attend to audit queries from Group Internal Audit and LBU Internal Audit ensuring all enquiries and evidence are provided within agreed timeline.

External

• Attend to external audit queries ensuring all enquiries and evidence are provided within agreed timeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experiences

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer
• 5+ years of experience with the Infosphere DataStage ETL product
• 5+ years of experience in data modelling and data analysis covering both relational and multi-dimensional modelling, implemented in an Oracle J2EE and/or SQL Server environment
• 5+ years of experience performing business process analysis, design and implementation
• 5+ years of experience design, developing, supporting and troubleshooting medium to large sized solutions utilizing ETL tools
• Experience and knowledge in investment is a must
• Strong knowledge and experience in Cloud Platform Technologies preferably Microsoft Azure
• Experience with data modeling, schema design techniques, writing web services and data access classes in .Net/ Java
• Expert knowledge of principles and best practices in software architecture and software development, especially with ETL and Infosphere DataStage tools
• Excellent understanding of relational database management, data warehouse and BI architecture, methodology and best practices
• Strong technical skills in database design and development, including data warehouse analysis and design methodologies and techniques
• Working knowledge of one or more BI solutions or SAP applications is a plus
