The opportunity:

AIA NZ are embarking on an exciting journey to deliver a best in class data analytics capability that we recognise must be underpinned by a high-quality data asset.  We're looking for a passionate and engaged ETL Developer to join the team and help us deliver to this vision.

You will be someone that loves working with the Kimball/Dimensional methodology, has expertise with MS SQL Server Data Warehouses and maybe Wherescape Red.  You thrive in working collaboratively with Insights Analysts, Modelling Analysts, Actuaries and wider business stakeholders to scope and deliver robust, extensible and highly performant Data Marts.

About the role:

• Delivery and maintenance of Data Marts using Wherescape Red / SQL Server

• Be the expert in Dimensional Modelling practice, including liaising with architecture, establishing standards and coaching our users (e.g. analysts)

• Lead data modelling including discovery workshops, star schema design and dimension conformance

• Lead and contribute across the development life cycle e.g. testing and release

• Work within the Data Analytics team alongside our BI Analysts, Modelling Analysts and Actuaries

• Maintain a strong relationship with the Data Warehouse team for capability management / delivery standards, peer checking, operational support obligations such as risk and incident management, preventative maintenance/performance tuning, release scheduling and environment management.

• Develop and maintain documentation including the Enterprise Bus Matrix, technical and release specifications, user documentation

• Ensure compliance with our delivery standards (such as architecture, information security, testing)

About you:

• Experienced MS SQL Data Warehouse / T-SQL ETL Development

• Solid grounding in Dimensional Modelling (Kimball methodology)

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, business-aligned and works alongside analysts and broader business stakeholders

• Inquisitive mind and a problem-solving can-do attitude

• Strong commercial acumen with a preference for financial services industry experience

• Experience with Wherescape Red is an advantage

• Experience with Tableau Server is an advantage
