Job Description
Job Summary-Purpose:
Under the guidance of the Head of English Program, acts as a team leader leading a team of junior teachers, oversees the planning and implementation of the educational experiences for young children with a child development focus in a play-based focus learning center.
Job responsibilities:
1. Oversee planning and implementation of curriculum projects and supervise activities performed by teachers;
2. Cooperate with the Head of English Program, plan and implement creative and challenging curriculum projects and activities in the areas of language and literacy, cognitive, emotional, social and physical growth; plan and structure environments to facilitate activities.
3. Provide instruction to children; develop emerging curriculum; create an environment that will promote children’s emotional growth and will support them in the transition from home to school. Carefully plan and structure both the indoor and outdoor environments of the classrooms.
4. Use observation skills to record children’s behavior and maintain anecdotal records.
5. Work directly with parents providing verbal updates, interpreting their children’s behaviors and to deal with queries.
6. Support the center by substituting and assisting with duties when needed.
Role requirements:
To be considered for this post you must meet the following criteria:
Minimum education/experience required:
1. Native English speaker, Bachelor degree or above in Early Childhood Education or Child Development;
2. At least four years’ experience teaching in the field of Early Childhood Education
3. A good knowledge of international early childhood education curriculums
4. Knowledge of child centered, play-based pedagogy
5. Experience in supervisory experience;
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities required:
1. Strong passion in early childhood education. Advocate of play-based learning approach for young children
2. An ability and desire to embrace new initiatives in the education of young children.
3. A high level of integrity with an appreciation of working with diverse cultures.
4. Strong leadership skills. Recent management / leadership experience in an early years context (2+ years).
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Strong sense of responsibility, experience of the management of resources, ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents
Certificates/licenses required:
• Teacher Certificate
OR
• TEFL/ TESOL certificate
