The Operations (Aftermarket) Co-Op Student will assist manufacturing engineers and other operations personnel by performing tasks and assignments related to planning, machining, assembling, and testing hydraulic components and systems for aerospace and military applications. Daily activities will include cross-functional interaction with quality, procurement, and design. Potential tasks are summarized below: Perform production analysis and recommend process improvements. Learn lean concepts and tools. Participate in lean “kaizens.” Design and 3D model assembly fixtures, tooling aids. Perform and develop monthly performance reports via ERP system and Access databases. Utilize ERP system in planning work order releases, etc. Learn to develop production processes via Computer-Aided Process Planning. Throughout the training cycle, this program provides participants with meaningful projects where individual efforts and contributions are critical. Participants will receive multiple opportunities for formal training, networking, and assignment coaching in addition to receiving ongoing formal feedback in order to evaluate personal progress and identify development opportunities. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with a major in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing. Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please do not round). This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (please do not round). Experience and has training in 3D modeling software, SolidWorks, Creo.
