Job Description

Eaton is looking for an Intern, Operational Excellence (4 months) for our Perth, Ontario office.

Position Overview:

The Intern, Operational Excellence will be responsible for proactively participating and/or leading projects and processes related to operational excellence for our Perth location.  The focus of the role will be on continuous improvement activities and projects that align with efficiency, safety and quality.  This will involve multiple product lines and processes both in the manufacturing areas, as well as front-end processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Work on key projects that have been identified as strategic areas of focus for efficiency, safety and quality.
  • Improve current processes by either leading or being a key member of cross-functional teams on existing or new projects.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members to drive awareness on the current and future state of tasks and milestones.
  • Create and update procedures in alignment with the site ISO9001-2015 standard and continuous improvement program.
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as the Safety and Environmental Standards.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in and returning to an Engineering/Engineering Technology College or University program.
  • This position does not offer relocation. The candidate must reside within 80 km. of Perth, ON.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

 Position Criteria:

  • Effective time management and project management skills.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
  • Efficient and effective communication skills.
  • Strong analytical approach, detail oriented, and creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficient with conflict resolution and interpersonal savvy.
  • Strong computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams as required.
