Are you ready? Position Overview:  The Engineering and Technology Development Program - Power Electronics track is within Eaton’s Electrical, Industrial and Corporate Sectors. This 2-year rotational program will provide exposure to two unique Power Electronics roles in United States. Eaton’s Power Electronics Engineering Development Program accelerates the company’s growth through the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provides a foundation for our business to more rapidly develop innovative products. Power Electronics Hardware Design Engineers will perform design, modeling, simulation, implementation, and validation of power electronics circuits for power conversion products like UPS, Drives, or Energy storage. While Power Electronic Controls Engineers will perform modeling, simulation, implementation, and validation of control algorithms for motor drives or power conversion products. Power Electronics Engineers will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing analog, digital, and power circuits, including embedded electronic circuits with DSP/micro-processor/FPGA, sensor interfaces, communication cards, gate drivers, and SMPS. The core technical skills and focus for the Eaton teams are on: Wide Band gap power conversion Solid state circuit protection MV power conversion Transportation electrification Energy intelligence After completion of the program, your experience and newly acquired skills could lead you in a variety of career paths within Engineering & Technology.     Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: PhD degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date no later than August 2023 Minimum of one internship or co-op experience completed at the time of this application   Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Development Program    Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community   Minimum two years of Power Electronics industry experience Position Criteria: This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed Ability to relocate to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC, Pittsburgh, PA, Syracuse, NY, Plymouth, MN, Rockville, MD, Peachtree City, GA, Milwaukee, WI, Galesburg, MI. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary for this role is $125,000 a year. This position offers a one-time $20,000 signing bonus. At Eaton, we know that good benefit plans are important to employees and their families.
