Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Data Science Specialist to join our team on the interim basis.
The Data Science Specialist will be directly involved in the application of statistics, machine learning, and analytic approaches to answer challenging business questions related to our electrification and digitalization strategies. This work will help ATIG group to accelerate the absorption of IoT/digitalization strategies into our electrification strategy related to electrified aircrafts.
In this role the candidate will:
- Carry out data analytics and optimization using machine learning & deep learning and Involved in strategic planning for data analytics related to Predictive maintenance
- Integrate data & perform ad-hoc analysis and prototype ideas, research and develop statistical models, and run experiments
- Iterate in order to design data-driven solutions that help solve critical technical problems and better understand electrification/intelligence needs and contribute innovative ideas to enhance or develop products using new or existing data streams
- Present and promote results to internal stakeholders
- Use suitable databases and project designs to boost joint development efforts
- Improve and support existing data science products and Develop custom data models and algorithms related to IoT/digitalization and electrification
- Build tools and processes that help monitor and analyze performance and data accuracy and leverage predictive modeling to optimize targeting, revenue generation, customer experiences, and more
- The candidate will demonstrate exceptional impact in delivering projects in terms of architecture, technical deliverables and project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with a team of experts in deep learning, machine learning, distributed systems, program management, and product teams, and work on all aspects of design, development and delivery of deep learning enabled end-to-end pipelines and solutions.
- Support the development of technical solutions and implement architectures for project and products across data engineering and data science teams involved in electrification and IoT/digitalization
- Have some exposure in embedded software developer with some experiance of different boards, microprocessors, test equipment, DSP etc.
- Have some programing skill in several languages (mostly C/C++) and has good Linux platform.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in computer science, engineering, software engineering, statistics, applied mathematics or physics from an accredited institution.
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please do not round).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
- Minimum of one internship or co-op experience completed at the time of this application.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical experience in the application of data science approaches.
- Solid technology depth and breadth in advanced machine learning and data analytics techniques with strong mathematical understanding of the algorithms.
- Proficient software development skills in Python, R, Matlab and/or other programming languages.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
- Abreast of upcoming data science tools, trends, and methodologies.
- Experience in Design Thinking or human-centered methods.
- Experience preparing big data infrastructures, integrating data from disparate systems, and cleansing data.
- Experience with visualization techniques.
