Primary Function: Directs and controls the movement of materials in and out of the site. Analyze, establish, and execute the planning, ordering, scheduling of material to meet the master production schedule. Ensuring an acceptable level of material is available to support the manufacturing and sales of products for the Power Quality group. Essential Functions: A. Production Plan Monitor ETO Order scheduling and communicate capacity concerns Co-ordinate Marketing Forecast into ongoing production plan. Provide actual shipment details within Production Plan to compare forecast accuracy Maintain and adjust Planning Bills to meet customer demand B. Inventory Management Analyze data, including materials requirements planning information to determine stocking policies. Set up and Maintain accurate Item Master attributes for MLT organization Manage inventory levels in relation to customer requirements and inventory targets and goals Disposition depreciated and slow moving inventory. Work with Quality on Non-Conforming components for timely disposition. Communicate with FSC (Financial Service Center) to clear on hold invoices in Markview’s AP4220 (Canada) Web box and personal web inbox within a timely manner to avoid supply interruptions or penalties. Co-ordinate with Engineering the timely ordering of Advance Material Order requirements for long lead time items and project based orders. C. Master Production Schedule /Material Requirements Plan Manage MRP and MPS exception messages Review, update and reschedule customer orders, discrete jobs, purchase orders and internal orders to maintain current and up-to-date master production schedule. Released Planned Order for Finished Goods, Sub-Assembly and Raw Material items Released Planned Orders for Purchased Items Create Discrete Job Packets for Shop Floor co-ordinate the release of orders and material to the production floor Create and maintain forecast planning bills Communicate with Order Management to Maintain a current master schedule to support customer orders and planning bills D. Customer Satisfaction Ensure timely planning and execution of discrete jobs and purchase orders to meet customer demand. Research current and potential material shortages, putting corrective actions in place. Informing production of material shortages that adversely affect the production plan and schedules. Communicate to Satellite customers and engineering material supply issues (participate in monthly conference calls) E. Material Availability Create and reschedule orders for material to support stocking policies. Analyze, prioritize and communicate shortages to production manages and escalate expediting to ensure schedulers are met. Utilize kanban and Bulk processes to ensure material availability and reduce cycle times, Work with the production staff to ensure kanban and production kanban pull sequences as well as bulk items are maintained according to production requirements. Work with purchasing to communicate with suppliers on Material quality, on-time deliveries & overall performance. (Supplier Evaluation) F. Cost Reduction Submit cost reduction ideas Support cost reduction projects and other improvement initiative to achieve overall business objectives. Adopt Lean Manufacturing principles Qualifications Basic Requirements: Enrolled in or working towards completing a University Degree / College Diploma specializing in Business or Materials Management Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 80km of Toronto, ON Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship Preferred Requirements: 0 to 3 years experience in a Materials or logistics in a computerized MRP environment Working towards CPIM or APICS Certificate 1-year experience with Oracle or Material Requirements Planning Position Criteria: Sound knowledge of products and systems purchasing and accounting policies Strong problem solving expertise with excellent time management capabilities Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills Strong data analysis and problem solving skills required Advanced knowledge of purchasing techniques and supplier management with advanced computer skills especially in MS Office and database management Only qualified candidates will be selected for an interview and priority will be given to students returning to a post-secondary program the following term.
