Job Description Economics Teacher (August 2023)

The Role
The Economics Teacher will be part of a team of specialist subject teachers, responsible for contributing to the development of the subject at all levels throughout the school. He/she needs to possess good organizational skills and also be an enthusiastic, energetic and innovative teacher, committed to flexible and varied styles of teaching in sympathy with the aims and objective of the school.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
-teach Economics classes based on IGCSE and A Level curriculum to grade 9-11 students
-plan and prepare learning activities and guide students towards the achievement of curriculum objectives
-evaluate each student's performance on a continual basis
-communicate with staff and parents on students' progress
-ensure the required standards of classroom management and student behavior are met
-maintain accurate and complete records as required

Hours of Work
Teachers are expected to deliver average maximum 24 Periods per week, 45-50 minutes each Period. Normal working hours are expected to be 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. If a teacher is required to deliver Period 1, he/she needs to arrive at school at 7:50 am.
