This role includes day to day management and coaching of the team as well as the definition and execution of our technology and platform strategy for CIP in collaboration with technical experts, partner organizations and business representatives. The manager will be responsible for team and project status reports on a regular and consistent basis. The role will focus on increasing and maintaining the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing platform technologies and direct the delivery of technical work. The responsibilities of this role will extend to the recommendation of strategies, policies, and procedures through evaluation of organization outcomes, identification of problems and opportunities, evaluation of trends, and contributing to the wider team efforts. The role will be responsible for the coaching, counseling, and management of team employee relations in addition to identifying and supporting personal growth opportunities. The manager will be responsible for the selection, recruitment, orientation, and training of employees and maintenance of a safe and secure work environment. Your main responsibilities: Management of a diverse technical team focusing on the development and integration of edge intelligence technology in Eaton’s commercial software and power management products. Technical understanding of software development processes, quality controls and lifecycles - especially Agile program execution - from definition to product integration and delivery. Collaboration with technical leaders and business partners to define and execute an "Edge Intelligence" platform software strategy. Co-ordinate and prioritize allocation of technical talent to meet business demands and align with individual development goals. Monitoring and reporting on project progress and operational performance. Development and resourcing of our talented team, including recruitment and development of the team members. Problem solving to address technical hurdles and maximize the effectiveness of the team. Developing budgets and strategies for growth. Coordination across a global team and diverse range of business units and engineering partners. Contribution to CIP strategic planning and organizational development as a vital member of the CIP leadership team. Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: EDUCATION: Requires a minimum of a BSc./BEng degree in computer science or electronic/computer engineering discipline. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: 5+ years’ experience in a management role in a technical and commercial software development team environment. Proven ability to clearly present ideas and proposals to non-technical and senior technical audiences. Ability to navigate and prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced changing environment Experience in software technology in some or all of the following areas: Embedded platforms and systems. Machine Learning in resource constrained environments (e.g. TinyML). Internet of Things (IoT) device management. IoT communication standards and protocols. Linux / Real-Time operating systems. Embedded product development using open ingredients. Desired: Familiarity with program execution and tracking through agile workflows and tools. Experience in software integration through continuous integration and Git branch management.
