Job Overview
This role will be responsible for assessing and implementing production requirements for Electric Vehicle and assure production readiness at Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation for multiple electric vehicle assembly processes. This includes process design, equipment procurement and installation, production work instruction design, training, and process validation.
 
Responsibilities
- Determine facilities updates required to meet Daimler Production standards

- Specify equipment/tooling requirements, budget and procurement

- Recommend process changes and coordinate the implementation of these changes into production.

- Analyze area annual Capital Spending Plan for project feasibility and implement as deemed necessary in regards to Safety Quality Delivery Cost Morale Environment goals (SQDCME).

- Coordinate production requirements with internal and external customers.

- Evaluate current production processes for improvement opportunities.

- Assist in strategic planning by evaluating process and identifying potential improvements using continuous improvement problem solving methodology.

- Provide engineering expertise in integrating equipment, systems, materials, facilities, and processes into a cohesive, cost efficient and production manufacturing system.

- High voltage safety responsibilities.

- Works with “CESC” for location standards and procedures.

- Provides training, and technical advice to technicians/operators performing HV work.

- Provides oversight of HV.

- Ensure all high voltage safety protocols are met and proper test equipment is in place to properly validate vehicle and systems.

- Adherence to high voltage safety standards in commissioning area and production line processes, including audits and inspections.

- Works in conjunction with local CESC to develop/implement HV production procedures (SWI).

- Establish test procedures for high voltage and unit functionality including dyno.

- Ensure engineering practices comply with government regulations and safety standards. 

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience required

- An attached resume is required

- Group lead/supervisory/project lead experience preferred


- Electric vehicle production/design experience preferred


- Proven ability to adhere to and ensure safety standards required


- Ability to pass applicable Daimler High Voltage Certifications required


- Proven technical and analytical capability, and good mechanical aptitude preferred
