Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking an Electrical Assembler - Day Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, Ontario location. Position Overview: Eaton’s Milton Plant has an immediate opening for an Electrical Assembler - Day Shift. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the mounting and wiring of components and sub-assemblies. The Electrical Assembler is responsible for the safety of the electrical systems so they must know and adhere to government regulations, building codes, and safety rules. In this function you will: Cross check electrical and mechanical components required for the build against the bill of material. Layout enclosures and sub panels for assembly/cut-outs based on information provided. Understand various methods of connection and apply proper methods to the equipment that is being built. Wire equipment with proper voltage level, current level and industry standard colour code per drawings provided. Organize circuitry within panels for proper voltage level separation. Escalate schematic concerns as appropriate via correct channel(s). Repair and modify any errors detected by test/inspection. Work to CSA and UL code. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process. Use various electrical components, gauges, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product. Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary. Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement. Follow standard layouts as required. Perform pull test on wire when completed. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of 1 control wiring experience. High School Diploma or equivalency. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future. No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON to be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret bill of materials, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools. Position Criteria: Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. Able to accurately layout, mount, wire, and troubleshoot industrial power and control components. Understand various methods of connection and apply proper methods to the equipment you are building. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Good PC skills, including MS office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
