【General Responsibilities】

Responsible for electrical design of MV switchgear.

【Main Accountabilities】

• Have the ability to electrical design to the specific engineering requirements;
• Cooperate with DI to update the major solution design in order to meet the requirements of products; Give the answer to the question raised by our customers towards products;
• Cooperate in designing the project schedule to make sure the project on time;
• Cooperate in the production issue;
• Design new scheme according to the market requirements, extend product functions, optimize original design;
• Support on design scheme confirmation before contract receiving;
• To write the related technical documentations.

The Technology Center is operationally a part of the global Medium Voltage R&D team. This team has 11 Technology Centers in Europe, USA,China and India. These centers are together making all product development for ABB PTPM. The owner of the designs is ABB Technology Ltd, called CHTET, giving licenses to the different local manufacturing companies. The Technology Centers works on behalf of CHTET and are responsible for new designs as well as updating of existing designs. The members are employed by the local manufacturing companies, in order to know the local markets and the local manufacturing situation. The R&D projects are normally international projects, with different teams in different countries. This means that ability to communicate in English is very important. It also gives opportunities for work periods at Technology Centers abroad. China MV Technology Center has one team in Beijing at ABB HV Switchgear Co. Ltd and one team in Xiamen at ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co. Ltd. For the Beijing team we now need more engineers for the R&D.
