RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement embedded systems including schematic creation, board layout and assembly.
- Characterize, test and debug designs.
- Work closely with our overseas development partners through the product development process and act as the liaison between Portal US team and our partners.
- Support product build activity.
- Track project progress and clearly communicate status by producing regular progress reports.
- Support the cross-functional teams such as Mechanical, SW, Reliability, Manufacturing, etc. to resolve technical issues.
- Travel to different contract manufactures in China is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Strong EE and hardware product development fundamentals
- Experience and knowledge of high speed digital design and familiarity with common technologies and interfaces
- 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics, mobile computing devices or related fields working on system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up and validation.
- Strong product NPI experience
- Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors
- Communication skills with the ability to distill issues and actions for consumption at various levels
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS in Electrical Engineering or related fields with 10+ years of industry experience
- Has experience working in a lead capacity across one or more full product development cycles.
