Essential Functions

• Develop concepts for new product design. Work within product development and continuous improvement team from concept through implementation
• Develop specifications for DC motor control systems, motors, batteries, BLE communication subsystem or components and associated equipment including Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
• Develop control logic diagrams, component selection, HMI design, PCB programming, and PLC programming.
• Specify requirements and work with suppliers, including those providing embedded software and firmware.
• Assist in the build, test, and evaluation of prototype systems.
• Produce engineering documentation and drawings enabling release of electrical and electronic components and assemblies for production.
• Support manufacturing operations during pilot-production and assist in diagnosing field issues and developing corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of design developments during all phases of the new product development process
• Assist in material selection for mating components, such as connectors, sensors, cabling, EMC shielding, and enclosures.
• Work as a key member of the interdisciplinary development team to drive business performance and engagement
• Application of optimal technology to meet or exceed customer and commercial requirements per the product requirements specification
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and compliance activities within prescribed area
• Develop solutions to improve product quality and reduce product cost
• Develop design control documentation to support new product development, write change notices, and develop project requirements
• Develop test methods to verify and validate design changes
• Interface with internal departments during the product development and production implementation processes
• Interface with vendors to resolve design and manufacturing issues
• Develop and build bread board protoypes also manage development of all electrical prototypes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, BS/MS preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience working as an electrical engineer on successful product development programs in medical device industry.
• Working knowledge of digital circuit, micro-controller, DC motor, and battery design
• Working knowledge of FDA and NMPA regulated design control requirements for medical devices
• Solid understanding of UL, IEC, CE and RoHS requirements
• Ability to make decisions in regard to compliance issues, product reliability, and analysis of testing methodologies
• Solid understanding of current electrical engineering technology as related to product design and development.
• Working knowledge of Solid Works CAD Software as it pertains to electrical system layout preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong product affinity and results orientation
• Must be hands-on and enjoy working in the lab to build, test and re-work electrical systems
• Good English skill in both oral and written.
