Eaton's Electrical Sector, Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position is based in Raleigh, NC. Relocation assistance available. Eaton's Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division in Raleigh, NC is looking for a for a Electrical Engineer to support our product development and design of high quality power distrubution equipment, uniterruptible power systems and energy storage interters. This position is responsible for design, development, validation, production release, and support of an exisiting product design team. In this function you will: Review product development requirement specifications, electrical and electronic circuit design to meet product development requirements factoring in performance, cost and schedule. Implement Electrical Engineering techniques/ knowledge in support of the design, development, qualification and production release of power distribution, uninterruptible power supply and energy storage products like inverters and batteries. Completes electrical qualification testing and design reviews in support of product releases. Maintain design configuration and integrity of design documentation in a product data management system during product development and release. Design and develop power converters and electrical systems for uninterruptible power systems and accessories. Analyzes and simulates power electronics systems including, analog, logical, and digital electronics. Participate as team member in new product development projects (uninterruptible power systems and other power quality products) while meeting schedule, cost and product performance goals. Review product development requirement specifications including product management and customer requirements. Write and maintain functional specifications of design solutions Evaluates alternative design solutions to meet product development requirements factoring in performance, cost and schedule. Applies Design for Six Sigma principles as part of the development process. Maintains and releases design documentation in a PDM system during product development. Supports factory introduction and field deployment of new products. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering experience Must be authorized to work in United State without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience with new product development efforts preferred. Training on Design for Six Sigma concepts preferred. Experience with Safety and Regulatory Position Criteria: Skilled in electrical engineering design tools such as schematic capture, printed circuit board design, and 2D drawings in AutoCAD (mechanical or electrical). Experience with product development processes (planning, design, qualification and release) required. Exposure to power electronics and power conversion techniques. Experience with harware-in-the-loop or HIL Familiarity with common tools and methods to work in high power lab (480V) environment, oscilloscope, power analyzers and meters. Excellent verbal/ written communications. Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
