JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Section Manager of Electrical Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of Electrical and Firmware Engineers in the design and development of products for secure power projects. In this role, the Manager will lead the development team of both electrical engineer and firmware engineer in the development of China-for-China products (UPS, Cooling and PDU) or solutions (MDC) including ensuring PMP/PEP/ETO processes are achieved on-time and under budget. The Manager will also be responsible for employee development and customer support duties.

The ideal candidate must have a “go-getter” mentality, isn’t afraid to ask questions to solve problems, has the ability and personality to lead and motivate engineering teams, is a team player with the flexibility to adapt to the electrical power industry, has taken a product through the full development lifecycle several times, and can stay sharp under pressure.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for leading the development of China-for-china products.
• Responsible for leading the development of a local electrical engineering and firmware engineering team.
• Supporting continuous improvement of all engineering competencies
• Responsible for developing the skills, capabilities and work quality of both electrical and firmware engineers
• Responsible for selecting, hiring and disciplinary action of engineering organization with span of control
• Internal interfaces include, but are not limited to: project management, product development, quality management, testing/validation, business development and sales, offer creation purchasing and industrialization.
• Responsible to ensure project milestones are being achieved with the highest quality
• Responsible to identify and assess risks that could impact project timing, cost or quality
• Responsible to ensure all product lines are supported with the needed skills and number of resources for success

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Electrical power (i.e. UPS and invertor) development experience (MUST)
• Functional Safety experience (Required)
• Working knowledge of PMP process (Required)

• 10+ years of related experience working in design and development of electrical power as an electrical, systems or firmware engineer within the power industry (MUST)
• 3+ years of related leadership experience having successfully launched several products into mass production (MUST)
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering (Electrical, or Firmware) (MUST)
