Job Description
Job Summary Develops Mechanical Engineering for Distribution Products, as Motor Control Center (MCC), SWGRS, SWBDs, and Panelboards for medium voltage and low voltage Applications Control and Electrical Measurement of medium and low voltage using ANSI, NEMA, NEC USA and / or UL and Mexican Standards ANCE, NOM, CFE, PEMEX and other applicable codes and regulations for Mexican marke. Job Responsibilities Make engineering (including 3D models, drawings or plans) of general assemblies for standard products and Special Products of Distribution, Control and / or Electrical Measurement Software using computer aided design Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Mechanical Desktop, etc. Analyze all of the information provided by the Electrical Engineer and provide interpretation for the development of Mechanical Engineering of the product. Identify Opportunities to improve designs and processes thru standardization and systematization of the workflow. Execute all activities to maintain drawings control for special orders and / or standard assemblies following processes and procedures for the Engineering of the product. Collaborate with various departments by setting or changing methods, techniques or processes that promotes continuous improvement. Collaborates with Senior Mechanical Engineer to assign and supervise work to electromechanical drafters and technicians. Identifies the technical requirements which may require a project change order (CO and CR’s) and brings it to implementation. Generates the project bill of materials to meet the customer specifications and Designs Guidelines. Structures bill of materials (Metal Components) so Purchasing department can timely procure Provides information and collaborates with the mechanical design area such that the electrical design can proceed in accordance to schedule. Expeditiously resolves all technical issues with the customer, Manufacturing department to meet project schedule milestones. Conducts all technical communication with the customer in a timely and professional manner. Provides timely notification to the Engineering Manager of any deviation or delay that has the potential of impacting the project completion. Conducts daily walk-throughs (startup Manufacturing Meetings) of assigned projects in the plant. Advises and resolves all issues encountered during these walk-throughs with the appropriate production area lead personnel. Meet any other activity assigned by your supervisor or special requirements of the company. Comply the Eaton Business System (EBS), in foundations, Planning, Growth, Functional Excellence, Assessment and Learning, mainly in the Eaton Business Excellence (EBE); ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and its tools (such as: Eaton Quality System (EQS), Eaton Lean System and Six Sigma-ELS, HR Operating Review and Employee Survey. Know and comply the Policies: Global Ethics, Values and Philosophy, Management Environmental Safety and Security and Health (MESH). MESH compliance and follow up of policies and goals Support MESH to accomplish goals and objectives related to environment and safety Support to sustain SSA for environmental care Perform MESH activities Report and Acts upon any act or unsafe condition. Firmly follow Eaton's leadership model as well as adopt leadership attributes (Ethics, Passion, Learning, Responsibility, Efficiency and transparency). #LI-DS1 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution required. Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish required. Years and area of experience required: Minimum of 2 years prior Mechanical Engineering experience in electrical industry; or related product and manufacturing. Minimum of 3 years’ first-hand design or applications experience with Power Distribution Equipment. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a product development environment. Technical knowledge: Deep Knowledge of Software Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Process Management: Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow; knows what to measure and how to measure it; can see opportunities for synergy and integration where others can't; can simplify complex processes; gets more out of fewer resources. Soft skills: Bachelor’s degree of Science in Mechanical. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) Process for New Product Launch preferable ProLaunch NPD and / or STP. Bachelor’s degree of Science in Mechanical.
