Eaton’s Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking an Electrical Test Technician II on 1st shift to join our team Raleigh, North Carolina team. Pay: $24/hour Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision) 401K (6% Match) Vacation (Two Weeks Starting Out) New Hires will recieve a $1000 sign on bonus after 90 days of Employment!! Position Overview: The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for performing testing, troubleshooting, and repair on three-phase medium and high voltage UPS and power management systems to ensure products are repaired and tested to defined specifications. The incumbent needs to communicate effectively with cross functional departments to resolve and correct repair issues, including but not limited to engineering, production, quality, operations, contractors. In this position you will: Read and interpret electronic schematics for UPS Systems Responsible for reporting any non-conformance items by utilizing our quality management guidelines Recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost effectiveness Instruct and communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues Check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards Identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment Assist team in achieving plant and department goals Adhere to all environmental, health, safety policies and procedures, and work instructions Use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork Cross train with peer technicians on products, test equipment, procedures, and formal communication aspects of the job function Support custom job assignments based on customer and business requirements Why work at Eaton? Below are a few of the Outstanding benefits we offer: Competitive Pay, Benefits start on day one, Vacation time, Employee Discounts, Retirement benefits, Paid Parental Leave, Educational Assistance Program and many more! No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Youngsville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Position Criteria: Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Must be able to frequently stand or bend. Must be able to distinguish colored wiring. Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, or wire diagrams Excellent written and oral communications skills/interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally across multiple departments. Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability. Preferred Qualifications: Previous customer service experience. Manufacturing systems knowledge (KANBAN, JIT, Production scheduling). Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations; electrical and electronic devices. Basic understanding of engineering and multi-module specifications and layouts Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs. Proficiency with SAP.
