Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Germany / Bonn Are you a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer and are you interested in developing devices used in industrial motor control applications? What's the project about? Design and develop next generation of motor protective circuit breakers (MPCB) and overload protection relays, addressing demanding customer requirements in terms of world-class performance, build-in sensorics, connectivity and edge intelligence, all the important product characteristics allowing for process digitization, remote monitoring and energy transparency. Main task will be researching, developing and examining innovative solutions and technologies for use in low voltage switch gears for motor control, monitoring and protection. The focus area will be novelty contact and actuation systems for MPCB by using modern design and development approaches, such as Design thinking, Design for Six Sigma and by leveraging simulations for accelerating development cycle and to facilitate rapid product deployment. Qualifications What we are looking for: Preferred: Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as design engineer with solid record of completed projects in the technology area low voltage switch gears Knowledge in contact& actuation systems, conductive parts, materials and electrotechnics Expertise with DFSS methods and tools (PDSC, DFMEA) Engineering calculations of currents, resistances, forces, strength, stresses, dimensional chain and tolerances Experience in applying computer simulation methodologies for concept selection and design validation Capability to define and conduct tests (e.g. short circuit, overload, switching capacity, temperature, electrical safety) for functional samples Experience with 3D CAD System, UG NX preferred Experience with PLM System, 3DS Enovia preferred Technical reporting and engineering project management with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customers What we offer: At Eaton, we aspire to be a model of inclusion and diversity in our industry – a place where everyone matters and everyone belongs.
