Job Description
Position Overview Siemens Government Technologies (SGT) is seeking an ESS Technician who will be responsible for the successful execution of an electronic security system (ESS) managed services project for a U.S. Government customer in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time position that will comprise a mix of managed services and repairs related to IDS, ACS, perimeter detection, CCTV, ESS alarm panels, and other various electronic security equipment in support of a long term and progressive government customer. Responsibilities Assist ESS technicians in performing periodic preventive maintenance to ensure any issues are detected early and resolved before the equipment fails Perform preventative maintenance of Access Control, and Intrusion Detection equipment such as CCTV cameras, card readers, keypads, magnetic locks, BMS, proximity sensors, DVRs, and UPS connected to a central monitoring station Perform root cause analysis of ESS equipment malfunctions and fiber connections while striving for continuous improvement and making recommendations to customer Respond to or review corrective maintenance requests to determine the need for repair Prepare corrective maintenance service orders, work statements, cost estimates and price proposals for submission to customerRequired Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Secret or L Clearance High School Diploma or equivalent Operator or installation certification for Vindicator and/or CCure systems Five or more (5+) years’ experience in Access Control and Intrusion Detection installation and maintenance Experience and training in the basics of circuitry and electronics, basic wiring connections, fiber optic cabling and connections, CCTV, CAT5 & CAT3 cabling runs and troubleshooting Experience with US Federal Government projects, contracts, policies, and procedures Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within services projects Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, building drawings and technical descriptions Ability to effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external customers Interpersonal skills; telephone skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; must be able to perform inspection of work and must know the status of all work Individual must possess a valid Drivers license in good standing Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle planPreferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Associate’s degree from a two year college or technical school Training in basics of electronics and circuitry either in technical school or certifications received during training classes from industry vendors Operator or installation certification and experience with CCure 9000, Bosch, Kaba Mas, Pelco, SW Microwave, etc. Prefer eight or more (8+) years of demonstrable experience in Access Control and Intrusion Detection installation and maintenance Clearance Requirements: Candidate must be a United States citizen and have an active DoD security clearance Organization: Country Functions & Departments Company: Siemens Government Technologies, Inc.
