More about us https://www.eaton.com Electornics Hardware Enigneer Location: Cwmbran The Cwmbran facility is the centre of excellence for the Fire product line, a leading manufacturer and a global supplier of high-quality fire systems and devices. With our ability to provide complete systems, not just components, our customers can be confident in the knowledge that all of our products have been specifically designed and tested to ensure that they are all fully compatible to form a reliable, compliant fire detection and alarm system. The role will be part of the R&D team, responsible for Electronic hardware design of future products to support the Fire Product line & digital transition over the next 3-5 years. Your main responsibilities: Analogue hardware design (Discrete transistor level, op-amps, comparators etc.) (Essential) Digital design (Flash memories, microprocessor integration and specification) (Essential) Power supply design/understanding (Desirable) Design Documentation base on a V-Cycle Development process (requirement capture, design architecture, WCCA, dFMEA, Test planning and product sign-off) (Essential) Design for EMC compliance and understanding of current standards (Essential) Knowledge of high volume manufacturing techniques to enable low cost manufacture of products. (Essential) Software appreciation (Software design constraints, hardware/software boundary specification) (Essential) Mechanical appreciation (Mechanical constraints of electronics design such as thermal, EMC, shock/vibration etc.) (Desirable) Project Management and Time Management (Management of projects from concept to production) (Desirable) Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: Education level required: Electronics qualification required (Bachelor’s Degree or similar) Experience within area is desired Technical knowledge Electronic Hardware of high-volume products Soft skills Time management, mentoring, cross functional working, project management. Ability to work in cross functional environment between sales, manufacturing and customer. Ability to lead team and provide strategic decisions on impact to projects based on current resource. Strategic thinking and ability to innovate to help support strategic roadmap for product line. Ability to influence multifunctional teams as part of a project leadership.
