Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of work experience in integrating and evaluating various sensor modalities(e.g., Accelerometer, Magnetic, Gyroscope, Proximity and Light etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience programming in C, C++, script. Android programming experience.
  • Hands-on experience in signal processing, micro-controller selection and various digital communication protocols and interfaces (e.g., GPIO, SPI, I2C and UART).
  • Background in software development. Demonstrated understanding of key concepts in computer architecture.
  • Familiar with sensor core architecture with demonstrated expertise in implementing sensor fusion algorithms. Knowledge of estimation theory (Kalman Filters, EKF, etc.), hardware performance monitors and profiling.
  • Understanding of OS tools and Unix internal knowledge. Ability to learn shell scripts, file system operations, and process management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the software stack for Pixel devices.
  • Work with SoC architects, chip vendor and Hardware teams to co-design future mobile systems.
  • Work on new devices, chips, and architectures to improve sensor accuracy, power and user experience.
  • Design and develop technologies to simplify the verification and installation of software.
  • Present new ways to improve the manufacturability and testability of our software while maintaining ease of use and improving the quality of the end user experience.
