The Employee Communications Manager is responsible for developing strategy and executing plans to engage our people on our business strategy and priorities while connecting employees to our purpose of empowering every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more.
- Newly created full time, permanent position managing employee communications for the Australian subsidiary of Microsoft
- 8+ years’ experience, preferably working in internal communications for a multinational or large complex organisation

Responsibilities
The Employee Communications Manager will be responsible for driving the internal engagement strategy for all Microsoft Australia employees working in partnership with key stakeholders including senior leaders.
As the Employee Communications Manager you will be responsible for producing and delivering communications via our main internal communication channels; including but not limited to our weekly newsletter, intranet , digital signage, Microsoft’s enterprise social channel of Yammer; and face-to-face events.
You will also work alongside the Executive Communications Manager to provide communication support to our Senior Leadership team aligned to both our company aspirations and business priorities.
Own the employee communications strategy and execution (40 per cent)
Own and manage the channels infrastructure (40 per cent)
Trusted advisor to the business (20 per cent)
Qualifications
You are an experienced communications practitioner with 8+ years’ experience and a proven track record running impactful internal communications programs in large organisations, preferably in the technology sector.
You’re a passionate communicator and storyteller who is creative and enthusiastic with an eye for detail. A self-starter whose comfortable balancing complex strategic work with day-to-day execution and operations and will always be looking for new and interesting ways to engage our people.
In addition, the candidate must have:
- A strong track record in managing internal communications campaigns and internal channels to deliver tangible results
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of internal communications discipline, practices and techniques, including strong working knowledge of communications platforms, channels and creative content generation
- Strong understanding of the use of digital tools to deliver internal communications and to understand the internal employee environment and sentiment
- Proven experience in managing multi-discipline campaigns, manage competing issues, work with and through others, maintaining alignment with Microsoft strategic direction and goals.
