About the Organization:

The Enablement Business Partner Center of Excellence (EBP-COE) is part of VMware’s Worldwide Readiness, Assessment, Certification, and Enablement (WWRACE) organization. The EBP-COE works with the product BU teams and Specialist Sales teams to create and curate enablement curricula for our global Sales, Technical Services, and Support teams as well as our Customers and Partners.   The EBP-COE team also works with the field-facing Centers of Excellence (Sales, SE, PSO, GSS, EDU) to communicate enablement roadmaps and gather enablement requirements for each role.

The EBP-Cloud Role and Key Responsibilities:

The Enablement Business Partner – Cloud (EBP-Cloud) is primarily responsible for driving the creation, curation, and management of content and curricula developed by Cloud Platform Business Unit (CPBU) and Cloud Provider Software Business Unit (CPSBU) ensuring compatibility with VMware solutions priorities.  Curricula outputs span both internal and external audiences including VMware Sales, Systems Engineering, Professional Services, and Partner-facing roles as well as Partners and Customers.

The EBP-Cloud will consult with the WWRACE Cloud Enablement Team Leader along with the Cloud Readiness Lead in the Cloud Sales organization to identify desired business outcomes and plan for appropriate enablement interventions while balancing the overall needs and objectives of the WWRACE organization.  The EBP-Cloud will also incorporate audience needs/requirements from Field Leadership by partnering with the Sales, Technical, Partner, Support, and EDU Centers of Excellence (COEs).  The EBP-Cloud will support the WWRACE Cloud Enablement Team Leader in representing WWRACE in bi-annual interlock meetings which include BU and Field Leadership.

The EBP-Cloud is also responsible for executing the plans identified by the WWRACE Cloud Enablement Team Leader and Global Cloud Sales Organization by developing and implementing enablement activities to help improve the performance, productivity, and expertise of individuals in the Cloud Sales and Technical Specialist roles. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program/project management, optimization and will exhibit excellent listening and communication skills to uncover the needs of the stakeholders and the communities they manage.  They should be able to work with a larger team to execute an effective plan and manage completion.  

A successful candidate will be able to manage multiple timelines and many contrasting/conflicting priorities to ensure timely results. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with multiple internal key stakeholders and RACE peers. Strong reporting skills are also desired to measure expected results and course correct as necessary or as the business changes.  This role is for an ambitious self-starter who works well within ambiguous parameters in a dynamic organization.

  • Understand the business objectives from the Cloud Platform Business Unit and Cloud Provider Software Business Unit stakeholders at VMware to identify desired business outcomes, translating those requirements into enablement and training curricula for our Field, Partners, and Customers.
  • Work with WWRACE Sales and Technical COEs to understand audience objectives and enablement needs, modifying BU plans as appropriate.
  • Lead virtual teams to ensure timely access to complete, new and updated courses, workshops, and other enablement programs.
  • Drive product and solutions enablement curricula to cover employee life cycle from new hire introduction and onboarding to continuing education, working with our Global Onboarding Director and team.
  • Identify key operational metrics and track performance of organization against strategic and tactical objectives and remove enablement roadblocks to success.
  • Establish specific enablement critical metric dashboards to measure impact on business and assess business performance relative to targets.
  • Utilize appropriate technologies, tools and systems to deliver information and resources at the right time and place.
  • Implement quarterly training effectiveness performance reviews with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct training and communications surveys and analyze against business metrics.
  • This role functions as part of the Enablement Business Partner Center of Excellence and requires close teamwork with key partners across all segments to understand and address key business issues/problems. You will also work with Worldwide Readiness and Customer Education (WWRACE) extended teams (Sales COE, Technical COE, Operations, Content, Delivery) teams to lead execution of Global programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete those projects on time while effectively demonstrating the ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a matrixed environment
  • Strong social skills and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong analytical thinker with track record of delivering high-quality work in a structured, disciplined manner
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Works well in a cross-functional global virtual environment that dynamic, constantly changing, and sometimes ambiguous.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently to get things done
  • Enterprise level, program management experience.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures; and
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Project Certification(s)

Desirable Strength

  • Experience in regional leadership roles and/or multi-cultural engagements a plus.
  • Knowledge of VMware Cloud, VMware Enterprise product Portfolio

Experience with Sales, Enablement, Specialist Teams, Direct Enterprise, Global Account and Channel Sales desirable
