WeWork is currently seeking an Energy & Sustainability Director who will directly report to the Building Operations team, and will be dotted lined into the Global Sustainability & Wellbeing (S&W) team. In this role you will establish and maintain clear and industry-leading energy and sustainability standards and operations in our regional portfolio. You will be a part of a global team of peers working in concert to implement global policies and roll-out of technologies, as well as taking individual initiative to address regional and local regulations and opportunities.
Reporting to - Regional Head of Building Operations, with a dotted line to the global Energy & Sustainability Team.
Overview Of Expectations
- The E&SM will be responsible for developing and embedding an Environmental & Sustainability culture that is aligned with the core values.
- Support the fit out process for new buildings relating to energy budgeting , consumption and metering strategy policy.
- Create and Implement a suite of environmental policies that are aligned with company structure and purpose.
- Ensure WW is taking a proactive approach to reducing our environmental impact, and finding cost savings linked to utility consumption.

Ensure the WeWork core values – Tenacious – Grateful – Entrepreneurial – Together – Authentic are being embedded in the day to day working process.
The standards and expectations will comprise the following.
Culture
- Create a sustainability culture that is aligned with the company’s ethos and culture.

Ensure sustainability becomes a habitual way of working rather than a process or tick list staff feel they have to complete.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s Degree preferred, ideally in Energy/Environmental Management, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science or a similarly engineering-minded field.
- Have at least 10 years experience in a similar role.
- Have proven track record of managing utilities across a multi- building estate and across multiple international jurisdictions.
- In-depth knowledge of energy markets, especially renewable energy markets, policies, voluntary corporate programs, and regulations.
- Have experience working with Sustainability and Environmental legislation across multiple countries.
- Have been in a leadership / management position for at least 3 years with a track record of team development.
- Fluency in English
