Engineering Project Manager (25K)

OBJECTIVES
This role is to largely handle the daily activities of setting up in preparation for mass production and sustaining production. Ensuring timely delivery of quality products and manufacturing systems that meet or exceed client requirements. Evaluating existing processes to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Overall management of assigned projects throughout the pre-production and production ramp phases to ensure the project is completed on time and within the project budget.
? Understand the client’s requirements fully and implement manufacturing systems/processes that meet or exceed these from an engineering and quality perspective.
? Anticipate and resolve any design, process and supply chain issues, bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts.
? Interact closely with the client, track and communicate information to ensure that it is used correctly and that project issues are dealt with appropriately and resolved promptly.
? Manage communications between the client, the supply chain and the in-house client team on all aspects of the project, from inception through to successful production ramp.
? Overall responsibility for all project technical specifications and documentation including Engineering Change Orders.
? Collaborate with our supply chain partners on maintaining appropriate controls on the processing parameters and define suitable tooling/equipment preventative maintenance plans/schedules
? Troubleshoot process problems & develop and introduce solutions for long-term prevention
? Proven track record in process design and process implementation for products with challenging tolerance and cosmetic requirements
? Manage and co-ordinate equipment / tooling schedule and capacity plan, in line with overall ramp readiness plan for qualification and production builds, with both component and FATP facilities.
? Analyze process cycle times, process efficiency and yield loss, with a view to improving production throughput and yields, reducing scrap and removing unnecessary process/handling steps without impacting product quality.

EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor degree or above and major in Mechanicals or Electronic Engineering;
? Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in relating fields in volume contract manufacturing for major OEMs;
? Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling & manufacturing jigs and fixture design
? Strong technical experience introducing new products to manufacturing from product design and development thru to high volume manufacturing
? Proven experience working on hardware projects including PCBA, box-build Assembly and Manufacturing – Test with an in depth understanding of the electronic and mechanical requirements for manufacturing implementation
? Demonstrated project management skills, problem solving skills and a proven track record of effective supplier management
? Demonstrated experience of SPC, NPI, DOE and process optimization
? Understand and demonstrate lean manufacturing principles
? Lean Six Sigma – Green/Black belt
? Must be able to function independently, be a strong team leader and decision maker
? An ability to work effectively in a multiple project environment is a must
? Familiar with industry leading test and inspection equipment Strategic thought processes are vital in processing and analyzing data in order to reach key points
? Proficient in 3D CAD packages such as Pro E or Solid works and Microsoft Project;
? Excellent team player and with good interpersonal skill; Ability to work independently
? Good Communication Skills, both English and Chinese;
