Job Description / Capsule
§ As a technical support Engineer in IT operations team, having working knowledge of Windows\Virtual\Cloud Infrastructure operations. Engineer should have hands on working knowledge of supporting Hardware and software faults, build and deploying servers, handling operational issues in core platform areas such like Windows Servers, VMware VSphere, AWS, Azure, Cisco-Flexpod, HP-C7000) environment that includes Physical/Virtual infrastructure. Engineer should have knowledge in follow ITIL framework handling Incident ticket, change control, monitoring, queue monitoring, cross platform team coordination in all the Wintel operations support team needs. Engineer should have good interpersonal skills to meet enterprise environment support standards.
Typical Accountabilities
- Responsible for monitoring alerts handling.
- Responsible for handling service requests.
- Responsible for diagnosing and fixing P3 & P4 end user relate incidents.
- Responsible for build and deploy servers and other infra services.
- Initial triaging, and remediation if possible, for all P1& P2 or else escalate it senior levels.
- Responsible for incident queue monitoring and management.
- Responsible for Building & implementing Change requests.
- Responsible for fulfilment requests of standard changes (request for data, request for information, server builds, other service catalogue items)
- Responsible for building and updating Known Error documentation.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years Operational experience in Windows Server/VMware/Cloud (AWS/Azure) administration
- Experience in managing Incidents, Problems, changes and capacity management aspects.
- Demonstrated ability handling large number of incidents via. Any ITSM tool
- Flexibility to work in shifts on rotational basis covering Americas, EMEA and ASIAPAC regions 24*7
- An ability to work optimally in a matrix organization is essential
- A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience and a desire for professional perfection
Desirable
- Diploma\Bachelor’s degree
- Multi years of work experience in Technical teams working in Shifts.
Skills and Capabilities
Essential
- In Depth or working Knowledge on Cloud solutions and concepts
- Experience with Service Now ITSM tool is helpful.
- Operational experience with Cloud (AWS/Azure), Windows OS (Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016) and VMware (ESXi 6.x and above)
- Experience on handling Server(Blade & Rack) – UCS & HP Platforms.
- Experience working with enterprise monitoring tool and understanding dashboards.
- Experience with using Knowledge articles and detailed SOPs to resolve tickets.
- Experience working in ITIL model.
- Good to have experience with Powershell, VBscript or BASH shell scripting, Python, script preferred
Desirable
- Engineering level of experience in Wintel/VM Ware and Cloud with respect to handling Incidents, Problems, changes and capacity management aspects
- Experience and ability to work in shifts on rotational basis covering 24*7 support
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization is important.
