Job Description / Capsule

The suitable candidate must have strong skills on Nagios/Active batch operations and suggest methods to improve practices and processes on Nagios/Active batch delivery. Experience on more than one tool (desired) and relevant experience of 5 – 7 years. Candidate should be able to work in 24x7 environment from office. Must be ready and eager to work with end users as well as collaboratively with the internal team members. ​

Typical Accountabilities

  • Maintenance of datacenter/environment infrastructure
  • Setup monitoring for server performance and availability
  • Maintenance of the Fault and Performance Management tools (Nagios)
  • Experience in handling Active Batch Job scheduler
  • Promote and maintain server patch management practices.
  • Provide metrics for capacity management purposes.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, troubleshoot OS configuration and hardware failures and apply fixes
  • Event Management (analyze alerts and logs)
  • Incident handling
  • Problem resolution
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Initiate, assess, test, verify, document and quality assure system updates
  • Create and implement change requests for incidents/problems as needed
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise to stakeholders
  • Troubleshooting in case of faulty packages
  • Knowledge on Evaluating the software and compatibility testing
  • Knowledge on testing packaged application across Test cases
  • Environment setup – installation and configuration
  • Creating Dashboards to monitor the Server status
  • Collaborate with other internal teams such as Project, Service Now, Evanios and Development etc…
  • Create role-based access as per the environment
  • Create and maintain architectural diagrams and other relevant documentations for the Flexera
  • Arrange necessary trainings to internal tools team
  • Create Knowledge Objects.
  • Administer users and roles, generate pivots.
  • Creating Alerting, Reports and Dashboards based on stakeholder requirements
  • Implementation and testing of new configuration management, Log based and monitoring tool.
  • Outage handling, initiating/joining bridge calls during outages.
  • Handling various types of request tickets, Incident tickets.
  • Working in an ITIL implemented environment where all work is done by tickets, incident, change and problem and everything have their well-set SLAs.
  • Distributing the work among people present in the shift.
  • Actively involving on document creation and update.
  • Meeting SLA’s based on criticality of the servers, generating reports for Business starting and endings.
  • Generating reports and timelines to find missing SLA’s.
  • Handling incoming incidents and requests via phone/email/ticketing tool (Service Now) promptly and effectively.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in Nagios/Active batch admin and operations
  • Experience in handling Windows and Linux platform
  • Expert Skills in Nagios/Active batch operations and troubleshooting skills
  • Expert Skills in PowerShell.

Desirable

  • Experience in Stake holder coordination
  • ITIL V3 Certification
  • Lean knowledge
