This exciting role offers opportunity to: The Primary function will be working within a team of skilled materials engineers and technicians to provide solutions on metals and metallurgical process selection, evaluation, characterization for supporting various business groups Participate in materials selection, testing, characterization independently and in coordination with internal/external labs Develop knowledge of international standards for materials and its characterization & testing to perform hands-on analysis on microscopy as well as mechanical testing (UTM/Fatigue). Understand applications of materials, raw material specification and impact of variation on application Document technical data and report generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures and communicates with stakeholders Proactively participate in developing and refining specification and Engineering Standard Work Leverage lab equipment for advanced material characterization and microstructural analysis for research as well as to support business groups for Cost out, Root cause analysis- (Failure analysis), qualifying new supplier and production parts. Support product team to material queries, material property comparison and provide design guidance for material selection, process methods and inspection controls Conduct literature survey for new technologies and materials and publish white paper on feasibility for different applications for different manufacturing processes Support in developing proposals and present new ideas in internal innovation and ideation events Use a data driven approach with materials science principles to execute design of experiments and to develop quantitative and usable correlations. Actively contributes high quality IP that has business and technology importance Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Qualifications Requirement – M.Tech in materials science and engineering. B.Tech in Metallurgical engineering would be preferred 0-2years of industry experience M.Tech. in materials science and engineering Knowledge of Physical metallurgy, Mechanical metallurgy, Structure-Property correlations. Hands on experience with metallurgical laboratory equipment, mechanical strength testing and statistical data analysis. Hands on experience on advanced characterization such as EBSD, WDS, XRD, Metallurgical manufacturing processes will be preferred Self-motivated and passionate. Strong learning agility Strong oral and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills - flexibility to adapt to persons with different geographical, ethnic, educational backgrounds Initiate and support continuous improvement activities Ability to document, plan and execute projects with strong analytical skills Yes!
