This exciting role offers opportunity to: Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) – Center for Digital Prototyping & Twins (CDP&T) has an Engineer open position. Primary responsibility of this role is to work on sustaining engineering for current products and support different cross functional teams like sales & Marketing, SCM, manufacturing and quality etc. It also requires to have strong communication skills, drive, strong engineering acumen with enthusiasm in the current product arena. Work in multiple programs/projects related to current products/sustaining engineering domain Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making engineering decisions required for work execution. Own the particular productlines and build expertise to deliver on all engineering support needed for plant and CFT. Develop and understand product requirements, application and functioning in depth to answer the technical quarries, questions and solve field failures. Create/update CAD models and drawings of components/ Assemblies as per changes requested in ECO by CFTs and release independently. Study Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and understand test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards needed for design modifications, if needed develop prototypes and conduct tests by ensuring standard practices. Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions then release the drawings. Work with very old products and if needed create the 3D model and drawings with requested changes and release them with right approvals. Work within the group and support for peer quality check and perform self-work check to meet quality standards of work and meet required deadlines. Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications. Work with junior team members and develop, mentor them to deliver independently and provide right coaching and mentoring wherever needed. Work with plant and engineering team to deploy six sigmas though processes to improve the current processes and increase the productivity. Qualifications Requirement – BE, Btech/ ME, MTech Mechanical. Min 3 years’ experience with BE/Btech or 2 years’ experience with ME/MTech from mechanical or equivalent in current product support & sustaining engineering. Primary responsibility of this role is to work on sustaining engineering & product stewardship projects, It also requires to have strong communication skills, drive, strong engineering acumen with enthusiasm in the current product arena. Advocates Eaton’s commitments towards sustainable development in the engineering community of the electrical sector. Interprets existing, new and upcoming product stewardship-related regulations of markets affecting products of Eaton Electrical Sector. Translates product stewardship-related regulatory requirements into actionable product specifications. Tracks and reports the overall product compliance status on BU-, divisional-, and group-level by developing analytical product compliance status reports. Develops and implements methods to estimate and report the scope-3 emissions of the electrical sector product portfolio. Develops design principles, tools and methods to address and reduce product lifecycle emissions (“Design for Climate Change”). Develops and implements methods to quantify circularity such as recyclability, re-usability, durability and disassembly of products. Leads activities related to lifecycle assessments and environmental product declarations- REACH, RoHS.
