Position Summary:

Our manufacturing company needs a full-time Lab Engineering to operate under the supervision of Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing ingredients and finished products to ensure correct composition and to identify any quality control issues that need to be corrected. He or she will also participate in the R&D aspects of the job, including sample preparation, and production operations. We’re looking for a professional with experience in data collection and interpretation as well as the storage and retrieval of samples in a laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and runs lab tests.
  • Read, analyze, and release test results.
  • Define Inspection and test methods to analyze product quality.
  • Statistically analyze test results and be able to provide data-driven recommendations for solutions.
  • Gather and analyze data to compare the performance of material and products.
  • Prepare resin mixtures and ink formulations and process them into films and other articles.
  • Perform film measurements and summarize the results of experiments.
  • Maintain accurate lab notes and records of experiments.
  • Ability to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Operate and calibrate R&D analytical instrumentation.
  • Develop and follow SOPs.
  • Reviewing and discussing Root-cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and lessons learned.
  • Providing feedback to department personnel on the observations made during QC blends and R&D test blends.
  • Works with departmental and/or cross-functional peers to execute on assignments, under limited supervision.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
  • Works throughout assembly/production areas to accomplish goals by demonstrating ability and willingness to work with others when needed.
  • Works in teams to accomplish overall plant goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work with or around chemical
  • Aptitude for maintaining detailed records
  • Good communication and presentation skills.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English
  • Education Requirements: • BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical field
  • 2 years of industrial experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Hands-on and keen on working in a fast paced production line.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 30 pounds individually and occasionally lift greater than 30 pounds with the assistance of a hoist, lift, etc., to safely position, move, and stack, production items.
  • Ability to maneuvers assembly components by hand in a repetitive manner conducive to efficiency, job specifications, safety, and quality goals.
  • Ability to frequently stand, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, sit repetitively to accomplish assembly production goals using eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity while intermittently being exposed to noise, fumes, dust, and dirt during assembly of products.
