Roles & Responsibilities

The Software Engineer III is a senior role that provides technical support to our LIMS customers. DSBU LIMS software development teams are spread across the globe. This role need to understand the customer issues, do a root cause analysis and suggest a probable fix to the development team. This role should also be able to validate the fix provided by the development team before we pass it on to the customer. We are looking for a pro active candidate who will take ownership of the product and treat customer problems as the highest priority and deliver the best customer experience possible.

• Provide comprehensive documentation of the customer issues, root cause analysis and the resolution
• Create metrics that can help improve our turnaround time and provide better support to our customers
• Make recommendations that may have an impact on existing or future systems/applications, products, services or procedures and business processes.
• Coordinate/liaise with engineering teams in different regions
• Proactively follows customer support best practices.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years exp, BS in CS/Engg or additional 4 years exp in lieu of degree.
• Extensive experience providing support for Software products
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases. Oracle, PostgreSQL experience is mandatory
• Good knowledge of software development using Java, Web services, OData, Javascript
• Strong experience in understanding the existing software and providing technical support to customers
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Active listening skills to understand the customers need
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work with a distributed team of developers and support engineers
• Should be able to trouble shoot customer issues, identify the root cause and suggest a fix
• Should have skills to identify corner cases to validate the fix provided by the development team

Preferred Skills

• Knowledgeable about web frameworks such as Angular and React.
• Working knowledge of operating systems and cloud platforms including Linux, Windows, AWS preferred.
• Experience with Java based web applications, Apache Tomcat
• Experience with Relational databases, Oracle is preferred
• Work experience with major aspects of the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test).
• Experience with Jira.
• Prior software engineering leadership experience.
