PCB Layout Engineer Key Accountabilities Create PCB Layout considering normative requirements according to work tasks and consultation with developers. Both production specification circumstances and EMC aspects should be considered. Participates in requirements analysis, design reviews and other team development processes. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies. Creates prototypes and participate in product transition to production facilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Generate schematics on the basis of a draft in CAE and develop missing symbols and footprints Create net-lists and define clearance and creepage distances Specify PCB contour through regular communication, cooperation and coordination with designer and hardware developers. Perform placement of components partly in collaboration with designer and hardware developers. Create Layout considering normative requirements, production specification circumstances and EMC aspects. Determine use of PCB in cooperation with designers, hardware developers and the plants. Collaboration with MCAD engineers (IDF, STEP files) Setting electric / mechanic constraints by CES Provide and prepare the necessary product and production documentation Ordering of prototype material (electronic/mechanical components and PCB’s) Build-up of prototype PCB’s Collaboration with production Qualifications Education and Skills required to meet position qualifications: Bachelor’s/MSc. degree qualification in electrical engineering Work experience as PCB layouter Knowledge of EMC problematics - test standards and EMC handling methods Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembling, soldering and testing process of electronic modules Problem-solving ability Knowledge and application of IPC design rules Knowledge of electronic components technologies Preferred/Additional Specialized Knowledge Practical experience with Mentor flow xDxDesigner-Xpedition and xDxDesigner-PADS Experience with a PDM system – ENOVIA Experience with Model manager (PTC Creo Elements and PTC Creo Elements Modelling) Additional Information Must pose a good English oral and written communication skills, knowledge of German language – nice to have. Diligent and responsible person with common sense for detail. Good interpersonal skills. Team spirit and open mind person. Works as a part of geographically distributed team.
