Job Description
Job Summary Drive projects that result in product and productivity cost improvements by utilizing VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) methodologies, which focus on improving both existing product lines and new designs as control for escalating material and labor cost, or improving product margins, while maintaining product integrity. Support VAVE projects through the VAVE Pro-launch process. Maintaining a cadence for reviews with all project stakeholders and ensuring compliance to all PL requirements. Monthly reporting on MCB VAVE financial impacts to finance. Job Responsibilities Provide engineering support for productivity improvements projects through effective participation on cross-functional VAVE teams Lead Engineering efforts on critical direct material cost-out projects, including idea development, prototype, project execution, Support plant and Product Management cost out activities Support project management for VAVE projects through ProLaunch Coordinate with operations group at manufacturing facilities pilot runs and samples testing for VAVE projects Project Status Report Identify CTQ, develop design and manufacturing options Complete engineering evaluations and Design for Performance Testing; Identify require testing in accordance with Standard Requirements Industrialization of new product (NPI)/components, develop product Bill of Material and drawings Complete cost analysis studies (material/labor/overhead) to support product cost and production yield, evaluation of design characteristics on product yields Complete DVP&R, DpFMEA as per needed, problem solving and root cause analysis Supply required documentation to maintain VAVE Diagonal and COBD databases updated Participate and support VAVE events to maintain a healthy project deck. #LI-MA1 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related areas. Years and area of experience required: 1-3 years of experience, entry level position. Technical knowledge: DpFMEA, tolerance analysis, engineered material selection, product costing, strong knowledge of tooling and production, UL/CSA standards, DFSS. Soft skills: Good communications skills, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, decision making, interpersonal skills, flexibility/adaptability.
