Eaton is partnering with VCU and the companies of the 7 x 24 Exchange Central Virginia to offer this internship. As a summer intern: You will get to do something quite unusual – join an active team of developers who are working on real-world IoT software and service platforms. You will have the opportunity to research key technologies, learn state-of-the-art IoT development frameworks and demonstrate a prototype/proof of concept of a cellular-connected IoT solution. You will work alongside another intern from VCU, collaborate as a pair, and work with mentors at Eaton who will help guide the work throughout the internship. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to present the project to Eaton, VCU, and 7x24 Exchange stakeholders – this is a great opportunity to network with several companies in the high-tech industry. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Sophomore/Junior status at Virginia Commonwealth University. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round). Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA. Preferred Qualifications: Experience building projects utilizing electrical components. Software development experience (JavaScript, Perl, and other high-level languages). Linux experience. Interest in cellular network-based IoT solutions. Interest in data acquisition and processing projects. Note to VCU Students: This job is part of the TTIP Grant. Only College of Engineering students with CS or CPE majors who have completed ENGR 395 Professional Development are eligible.
