Siemens Mobility US has an immediate opening for an Engineering Intern! Our Rolling Stock product offerings include light rail vehicles, electric locomotives, diesel-electric locomotives, passenger coaches. The candidate will have the chance to assist and support engineers during different project execution phases. We are looking for students with the drive to work in the high paced rail industry and the willingness to learn about the processes to build vehicles of the future! A little about us Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. Using state of the art equipment, we craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems. What you will be doing: In this role, you will assist the Engineering team in ensuring the execution design and system validation follows industry standards and customer specifications. Some areas you will receive exposure and develop skills in: Mechanical Electrical Integration Electrical/Mechanical Design System Safety, Reliability, and Maintainability Exposure to electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control schematics Exposure to a hands-on manufacturing environment BOMs (Bill Off Material) Circuit troubleshooting Developing work instructions and test procedures Knowledge of Rail Industry Standards AutoCAD (2d Modeling) PTC CREO 3.0 Modeling software LabVIEW SAP Engineering Document Control Project management skills Basic Qualifications: Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field and have completed at least 2-3 years of studies to date. Legal authorization to work in the US is required Must reside or go to school near internship location (Sacramento, California).
