Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team. This is a great opportunity to take a step into leadership. This position is based in Santa Ana, CA. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for directing and managing the work of the assigned Engineering team and self to successfully complete assigned tasks, while partnering with the other Engineering Managers and Directors to accomplish all goals of the department. In this function you will: Reviews and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Supervises engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Manages the engineering team performance and addresses issues with poor performance, discipline and time management. Oversees and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Responsible for the components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Responsible for the research, design, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and layout of equipment for maximum workflow efficiency Creates and maintains bill of materials and labor routings to ensure accurate standard costing of manufactured products. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Defines and documents process flows for assembly and process, which includes writing and maintaining assembly, process, and test instructions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Identifies and implements improvements to reduce manufacturing time/cost by recommending/helping initiate “best practices". Team support of new product development, quality, and casting teams. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: 1 years supervisory experience Knowledge of Industrial Transformer, Invertor and Power Supplies products; In-depth knowledge of product line and processes, market trends and the marketplace. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
