Amsted Seals (Ningbo) is a new company setting up by Amsted Seals and Forming (a US company) through acquisition of Clark Seals (Ningbo) Ltd.. Through direct sales and partnership programs, this business will continue to expand its service offering into new industry applications. Amsted Seals and Forming is the culmination of a highly successful innovation project which has since evolved into an entirely new business of its own headquartered in Chicago, IL, USA. As a part of this ‘start-up’ atmosphere within Amsted Seals and Forming, you will be an important partner in shaping the growth of Amsted Seals (Ningbo) in China and Amsted Seals & Forming in USA.

Primary Job Function:

This position is responsible for product and process engineering for seal products. Through the process engineering team, the Engineering Manager is responsible for documentation of and constant improvement of the seal manufacturing processes. Through the product development team, the Engineering Manager is responsible for development of seal products to customer needs from conception to realization. A successful candidate will assist in growing the company by generating marketable engineered products and will be responsible for coordinating joint projects with engineering teams global.

Position Responsibilities:

• Act as a driver of innovation within the engineering teams

• Establish and enforce good engineering practices for change management, documentation, new product introduction, process design, project management and continuous improvement

• Work with customer product development teams to establish and meet requirements with finished product designs

• Assign PFMEAs to establish and maintain stable processes with the operations

• Use collected downtime and equipment failure data to identify and eliminate sources of poor equipment efficiency

• Work with safety and facilities to conduct and act on JSA for all equipment

• Coordinate engineering efforts and exchanges with business partners

• Identify and sponsor the patenting of innovations in products

• Develop the individuals in the product and process teams creating an engineering center of excellence for seal manufacturing process

• Review and approve technical drawings and documentation for Seals and Forming business

• Assign DFMEAs as required to deliver products for Seals and Forming customers

• Present compiled testing and product results to customers as part of the approval process

• Work with Research and Test Center to plan for testing volume and capabilities needed for ongoing product portfolio

• Review and when necessary compile capital project requests for equipment upgrade, repair and replacement

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience and 5 years management experience

• MBA or ME preferred

• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal, is necessary

• Willingness to travel as much as 25 % of the time
