Job Overview
The Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Department (CRA) oversees all product-related compliance and certification issues for Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).
In this crucial role as the Engineering Manager in Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, you will lead a team responsible for identifying safety defects across DTNA's entire product line. You will work cross-functionally across many different engineering fields ranging from Chassis to Mechatronics, exposing you to a wide variety of experience and knowledge. You will also have the exciting opportunity to become one of the few experts in the field in Defect investigations and Early Warning Reporting. You will represent CRA before upper management, giving you an opportunity to demonstrate your skills and accelerate your career.

Responsibilities
- Manage and direct team responsible for safety and emissions defect and noncompliance investigations for DTNA, Detroit, TBB, and FCCC
- Represent DTNA before government agencies such as NHTSA, FMCSA, NTSB, FMCSA and Transport Canada
- Ensure requirements of Consent Order are met as it relates to the Safety Evaluation List (SEL), quarterly reviews and process improvements.
- Plan and led TCT (recall decision making meeting) and prepare reviews for Vehicle Recall Committee (VRC)
- Develop policies and processes to improve safety and emission defect process
- Respond to government inquiries and investigations related to motor vehicle safety
- Ensure all required submittals to regulatory agencies are completed and on time (recall notices, owner’s letter, recall completion rates)
- Work with internal and external counsel, as needed.
- Represent DTNA in internal global meetings and external industry discussions
- Some travel required
