Job Description
The Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test manages, directs and coordinates engineering activities of engineering team Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test, which is part of larger Breaktor team. The Engineering manager works with product line, project management office, industrial operations, quality, supply chain and other entities of PMCC, Eaton emobility organisation and Eaton globally on planning, forecasting and executing NTI, NPI and VAVE programs as well as product maintenance of Breaktor portfolio. The Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test has a key responsibility for managing Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test activities, which span through the entire product lifecycle from the ideation, product development and maintenance over to the product phase out. The Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test is responsible for working aligned with the overall emobility strategy as well as technology & product roadmaps of Breaktor. The Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering / Simulations / Test manages and develops relationships with partners from product management, plants and other stakeholders and collaborates with remote engineering teams in Innovation centers and specialized teams, such as PMCC test lab or Eaton CoEs. Job responsibilities: Ensure technical, customer, standards, legal and other requirements in specifications (with very good knowledge in systems engineering and solid basic knowledge in mechanical design, electronics hardware, firmware, software, functional safety, connectivity knowledge, testing) in close cooperation with other development departments and coordinate the processing within the systems engineering team for the Breaktor. Recognizing and proposing simulation options from customer discussions (pursuit meetings) and development meetings and coordinating the implementation within the simulation team within the Breaktor team. Ensuring the quality of the created SysRS and system architecture. Ensuring the quality of the simulations created. Close cooperation with Domain Lead for Systems Engineering. Enforce adherence to the prescribed methodology for mechanical design development/construction of new automotive applications with specified quality standards (PreLaunch, PROLaunch, DFSS- Design for Six Sigma, FMEA- Failure Mode and - Effects) and statutory regulations and standards. Ensures mechanical design development and execution of a competitive and feasible product range, including the definition, in cooperation with Product management (including the applicable standards e.g. ISO 26262 and IATF). Manage direct reports, conduct performance reviews, administer merit plan, and set goals and development plans for direct reports. Provide coaching, feedback and guidance for direct reports, including reward and recognition. Qualifications Your Profile: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design engineering or mechatronics Strong experience in the Electronics sector in the automotive or industrial field Some leadership experience Special know-how of mechanical design and analysis tools Knowledge of ISO 26262 and IATF Proficiency in using CAD tools for new product development Knowledge of Jazz/Doors Knowledge in System engineering & Material engineering as an advantage Experience with DFSS Fluently English and German (oral and written) #LI-YH1 Eaton is an intelligent power management company dedicated to improving the quality of life and protecting the environment for people everywhere.
