Job Description
Would you like to play a key role in our WTG foundation projects for our future offshore wind farms?
Join us and become Engineering Manager in the Structural Engineering department where you’ll be part of the engineering management team located in Kaohsiung in Taiwan. You’ll be responsible for transferring our design and engineering knowledge to our fabrication and installation contractors in the Asia-Pacific region as well as for supporting the contractors in respect of their technical challenges and queries.
You’ll also be responsible for managing and coordinating follow-up design and engineering work during execution with the back-office design teams located in Europe, ensuring a smooth execution process for the engineering package, as well as for delivering a complete set of as-built design documentation for the fabrication and installation of foundations.
The Structural Engineering department consists of five main teams, Primary & Secondary Structures, Structural Integrity, CAD, and Engineering Management, all supplying engineering and design services to the projects in our Offshore business unit.
Your key tasks will be to
  • transfer the design and engineering package to suppliers, ensuring an efficient execution phase
  • review suppliers’ documentation, such as shop drawings, specifications, and risk assessment method statements
  • clarify technical queries in the fabrication and installation phase in collaboration with the back-office team in Europe
  • participate in first article inspections and takeover inspections on completion of the structural components at the fabrication workshops
  • support the back-office team in Europe cooperating with third-party certifying agencies to obtain statements of compliance on structural integrity of the as-built design.
Furthermore, you’ll be in direct contact with authorities to achieve necessary regulatory approvals in collaboration with the project team and the back-office team.
Your competences include that you
  • have a bachelor or master’s degree in structural or civil engineering
  • have extensive experience in offshore engineering – preferably with both monopiles and jacket foundations for wind turbines – combined with supervision, offshore design management, and/or project management
  • have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks
  • have experience addressing local regulators and authorities
  • speak and write Mandarin fluently
  • speak and write English fluently.
In addition, you have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical information. You thrive in an international environment, and you’re able to create good relationships with your stakeholders. You have team spirit and the ability to produce excellent results through teamwork. You enjoy working both independently and together with your colleagues and business partners.
